Coding takes Numerical Analysis and Problem Solving to the next level

Luc Blomme

Coding is cool. More and more countries add coding to the mathematics syllabi. In this workshop we focus on some examples and topics, chosen from the S6+7 further math syllabus of the European Schools. Coding at a basic level can be done using a spreadsheet. Using TI-Basic we can write our own program or function to implement a specific numerical method , to solve a problem or perform a simulation. Possible examples are: Newton’s method, Regula Falsi, Fixed point theorem, the cereal problem simulation, etc.
